The Kodak Girl

In Spring 2022 I re-found my love for analog photography which I had first discovered in a course at school in 2017. Thanks to a module in my third semester at ZHdK, I decided to start a new instagram site called @the.kodak.girl which was inspired by the many advertising women of the 60ies, so called “kodak girls”.

Initially I wanted to start a magazine to promote and make female analog photographers more visible online but I soon had to face, that curating an online-magazine meant more than posting pictures and using some hashtags. Due to my ongoing studies I put the project on hold and to this day I only use it as my own digitalised analog photo album.

I got really into analog photography because it allows me to slow down and focus on what’s important in the present right in front of my eyes. I am in love with the different colors and the style of each film and camera. Even if I like to vary films and cameras from time to time, I stick to a 35mm or 50mm lens in order to transport the feeling of a nostalgic reality. However my true vintage 1978 Miranda Auto Sensorex EE remains my favorite, not only because of its name of course.

This page is chronologically build, starting with the oldest pictures taken in 2022. Find my most recent ones at the bottom.
