Analog photography – First steps
When I was in high school I took a voluntary photography course as a side subject and it woke my passion for photography. It was my first time working with an analog camera and learned the craft from scratch up to developing the films independantly in the laboratory and exposing and “printing” them in the darkroom. At that time we were only able to use black and white film and noticeably bad chemicals.
Because of that I preferred to work with different light settings. To me, analog photography was the ideal playground to experiment with images and learn that accidents and randomness, as in the first picture, are part of the creative process and lead to completely new ways of expression.
After high school I had neither a camera nor access to a labatory and stopped shooting analog until I started The Kodak Girl︎︎︎
